Other important places in Kanyakumari are Vivekananda Rock, Gandhiji Memorial building and Kanyakumari Temple. Vivekananda Rock is the place where the great Indian philosopher Swami Vivekananda sat on long deep meditation and it is a rocky island 200 m away from the shore line. There is frequent ferry service to this rock.
