Situated on the mountain of western ghats.  Munnar is 1600m above sea level. 

It has some of the best hill resorts with sprawling tea plantations, and highest mountain peak, it is an ideal place for trucking.  There are locations in Munnar from where the wild animals could be seen at close quarter.  Apart from this there are many picnic spots in and around Munnar which makes it a sure destination.

It is a beautiful hill station on the Western Ghats. It is situated at the confluence of the three mountain streams Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala.  Munnar was the summer resort of the British Government in the South.  There are lakes, reservoirs, forests and several tea estates.  There is a wildlife sanctuary in the Eravikulam-Rajamala area in the Munnar forest division.  Anamudi, the highest peak in south India is near to this place.  Chinnar wild life sanctuary is also near to Eravikulam National park.
