• Kovalam Beach: This is a world famous beach 16 kms south of Thiruvananthapuram.  Kovalam has three adjacent crescent beaches.  These beaches are separated by rocky headland.  The southern most is more famous and is known as light house beach.  Kovalam has a  number of places to stay ranging from cheap lodges to up market resorts.

• Kumarakom: It is 16 km’s from Kottayam situated on the Vembanadu lake.  Its backwaters provide boating, fishing and sight seeing.
